Biogeosciences RE : Submission of a revised manuscript to Biogeosciences
نویسنده
چکیده
However, we are somewhat disappointed that Reviewer #1 did not take the time to review the extensive revisions we had applied to the manuscript in response to his initial comments, and consequently did not notice the change in title that we did implement in response to his first request. Given that the original title remains in the official email correspondences regarding our manuscript, it would appear that the reviewer did not notice the title change we noted in our response document and implemented in the manuscript itself. As a consequence of this oversight, we hope you will agree that the second review of our manuscript by Reviewer #1 does not fairly reflect the effort that we made to address his original concerns—an effort that included, among others, an entirely rewritten Introduction, a new Figure, a modified Abstract, and an expanded discussion of the limitations of our study.

Interactive comment on “High-resolution interpolar difference of atmospheric methane around the Last Glacial Maximum” by M. Baumgartner et al
GENERAL COMMENTS This paper is an excellent addition to the scientific literature and is within the scope of Biogeosciences. It presents new data that leads to an important revision of our understanding of the methane interpolar difference (IPD) during the last glacial termination. The authors have in general presented a very high quality discussion of the IPD, but I do have some comments/sugge...
متن کاملInteractive comment on “Occurrence of benthic microbial nitrogen fixation coupled to sulfate reduction in the seasonally hypoxic Eckernförde Bay, Baltic Sea” by V. J. Bertics et al
The Bertics et al. manuscript addresses the potential simultaneous occurrence of sulfate reduction and N fixation in anaerobic core horizons from the Baltic Sea. This work adds new data to the observations that sulfate-reducing bacteria fix nitrogen. Overall, the technical approach is sound, the conclusions regarding N fixation sound, and the paper is well written. I believe the work to be time...
متن کاملInteractive comment on “A reappraisal of the vital effect in benthic foraminifera on Mg/Ca ratios: species specific uncertainty relationships” by J. C. Wit et al
This paper focuses on inter-individual variability and temperature sensitivity of Mg incorporation in calcite shells of the benthic foraminifer Bulimina marginata. The manuscript is well-written; in particular, the Discussion section is well-thought-through. The topics attract many readers interested in biocalcification and paleo-temperature reconstructions. However, I consider this paper needs...
متن کاملInteractive comment on “Projected climate change impacts on North Sea and Baltic Sea: CMIP3 and CMIP5 model based scenarios” by D. Pushpadas
This manuscript assesses climate change impacts to the North Sea and Baltic Sea using the regional bio-physical model ECOSMO forced by output from three CMIP3/A1B and three CMIP5/RCP4.5 global Earth System Models (ESMs). The main findings of the manuscript are similar to those of previous studies. However, the paper is poorly organized and not all the necessary information is presented. It is n...
